Dear Ryanair,your flight from Manchester to Brussels was cancelled due to cabin staff strike. In the email provided you offered either refund or re-routing. We opted for re-routing. After contacting your customer service we were told that there are no companies that fly from Manchester to Brussels. This was not true because during the phonecall we looked on Internet and found four different companies offering the connection. When provided this information the customer service agent just said have a nice day and hang on the phone(!). Because Ryanair did not provide assistance on re-routing and according to the text in the email we were entitled to re-routing so we decided to buy the flights ourselves. This also incurred accomodation, transportation and refreshment expenses. After the flight we have tried to reach out to Ryanair who is only offering us to have a refund of the Ryanair ticket. We want instead to have reimbursement of our re-routing tickets and other expenses.
