I was downgraded at Madrid airport to an automatic compact car, since the manual intermediate suv that I had reserved via rentalcars and paid since January 2023 was not available @ alamo. That became apparent after 90 minutes of waiting (that were announced as 10 minutes waiting time), and destroying my precious holiday time, and the precious holiday time of my wife and kids. The staff at Madrid desk was not helpful and even was angry at me when I asked, of course slightly agitated, after more than one hour of waiting where my reserved car was. I finally was offered a downgrade. Now i am charged the intermediate suv, while it is clear i drove a compact car.I request to refund the difference and a compensation for not being able to honour a 6 month old reservation and for the waiting time. I turned up perfectly in time, the car was not there.Please let me have your revised invoice within 10 working days, and let me have the link to an official complaint form of rentalcars.com
