On January 29, 2025, I signed up for a trial subscription with ClarityCheck, which was advertised as a free trial before any charges would apply.
However, immediately after signing up, I was charged €39.99 without any prior notice. I canceled the subscription within an hour of signing up, well before the trial period ended.
According to ClarityCheck’s Refund and Cancellation Policy, if a trial is canceled in time but still results in a charge, a refund should be issued:
“If you request a cancellation of a trial through the designated channels before the end of your trial but are still charged, please contact us and if we can verify timely receipt of your cancellation request we will refund you.”
Despite following the correct cancellation procedure, ClarityCheck refuses to process the refund and provides only automated responses without human assistance. The chatbot has already confirmed eligibility for a refund, yet no action has been taken.
This practice appears to be misleading and unfair, as customers are promised a trial period but are charged immediately without proper notice or an easy refund process.
Requested Resolution:
• A full refund of €39.99, as the subscription was canceled correctly within the trial period.
• Investigation into potential deceptive practices by ClarityCheck to prevent similar incidents for other consumers.
